Terms

RESERVATION / PAYMENT / CANCELLATION:

Holiday at Sea is an Agency that only acts as an intermediary for recognized partners. The customer’s reservation is the first binding upon timely payment of the 1st installment. 1st installment usually amounts to 30% – 40% of the price of the trip – the balance is due 8 - 12 weeks before the start time. Deadlines must be met to maintain the reservation. The amounts paid in are lost in the event of cancellation, change in the trip and non-compliance with the payment terms.

THE PRICES: The price of the trip is in Euros – with room for the max. specified number of persons. Prices are based on applicable tariffs, taxes, fees and exchange rates. We reserve the right to make changes that are beyond our control, as well as for any printing errors.

CANCELLATION PROTECTION: We offer cancellation insurance, which applies in case of cancellation before departure, among other things. due to acute medical-documented illness in the traveler, his immediate family or in travel companions.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We offered from YachtPool.de - https://www.yacht-pool.de/index.php?id=219

SAILING EXPERIENCE: When renting a canal boat, a sailing license or sailing experience is not normally required (except for certain routes in Germany and in Alsace, France). You must be at least 2 people over the age of 18 to be able to rent a canal boat. When renting a sailboat or motorboat on the high seas, it is required that at least one person on board has a certificate of competency and a minimum of two on board have sailing experience. In addition, in Croatia, at least one person is required to have a radio certificate. It is a requirement that there are two adults of at least 21 years on board. It is always the individual sailing operator’s rules that apply.

ERRORS / DEFECTS: If you as a traveler find defects, damage or defects in the boat or its equipment, the boat base must be contacted immediately for assistance and repair thereof on site. Remember that the individual boat bases will do everything to ensure you a good boat holiday – it is too late once you have returned home! A subsequent complaint will not be accepted if our partner has not had the opportunity to correct / improve the conditions on site. Repair of damage may only take place with the boat base’s acceptance. If the ordered boat for technical reasons / damage should not be available, our partner will try to make another boat of similar standard and size available. See also the terms of the individual partner.

BOAT INSURANCE

The boats Holiday at Sea offers are fully insured according to the contract terms and the laws of the country – however with deductible. As a customer / tenant, you are liable for the deductible in the event of defects in the boat, equipment or damage to your own or other boat that has occurred during the rental period. The size of the deductible varies in relation to the size of the boat and the terms of our partner.

TECHNICAL SERVICE / RESPONSIBILITY

It is your obligation as a traveler:

a) to bring the necessary passports, sailing certificates / documents, insurances, etc.

b) to inform the boat base staff in case of delayed arrival / delivery.

(c) to comply with the rules of order and instructions given by the base staff and local authorities.

d) to notify the boat base immediately in the event of a grounding or accident.

IMPORTANT: Night sailing and towing assistance are not allowed. During the voyage, the tenant is always welcome to contact the base for any assistance, etc.

Disclaimers

We must reserve the right to make any changes during the boat holiday that are beyond our control – e.g. in one-way sailings, changed sailing routes, lock closures and repairs, changed sailing conditions due to weather and wind, strikes, local holidays and the like. Floods or droughts and thus regulations can occur – especially on the rivers – where areas for everyone’s safety must be closed to sailing, or where there may be a change in the sailing area / time. This will not be predictable until the last minute, and does not give the right to a refund or cancellation of the lease. See the terms and conditions of our partners. We point out that staying on and sailing with the boats takes place at your own risk.

Holiday at Sea is an agency that acts as an intermediary for reputable and reputable airlines and partners, and is not responsible for any delays, neglects, changes in times, prices, airport charges, specifications, local charges, currency adjustments, weather conditions, cancellations or force majeure similar events, for all individual parts of the offered holiday – events which at the conclusion of the agreement could not have been foreseen, mitigated or averted. This whether the journey is mediated by holiday at sea or is your own event as a traveler.

We point out that travel by scheduled or charter aircraft, train, bus or ferry is subject to individual conditions for the individual companies or tour operators and is thus beyond Holiday at Sea’s control, as we only act as an Agency where we mediate for recognized partners.
